CPF Group has entered into a partnership aimed at strengthening Kenya’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector and positioning the country among Africa’s top conference and business tourism destinations.

In the agreement with Afriventia Group and Kenya Tourism Board, the parties will collaborate on destination marketing, event development and strategic promotion of Kenya as a hub for international conferences, exhibitions and business events.

The partnership seeks to leverage ongoing investments in key infrastructure projects, including the redevelopment of Bomas of Kenya and the construction of Talanta Stadium, alongside the expansion of global hospitality brands in the country, to attract high-profile international meetings and conventions.

According to the partners, the collaboration will focus on attracting continental and global events, developing sustainable event brands, strengthening institutional capacity and improving Kenya’s ranking in global conference destination indices, including the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) rankings.

Hosea Kili, Group Managing Director and CEO of CPF Group, said the partnership is intended to support investment structuring and commercial planning around major conferences and events to enhance their long-term economic value.

"Through CPF PR & Events and our broader Group ecosystem, we are injecting the institutional strategy, sponsorship acquisition power, and commercial execution necessary to turn these major convenings into long-term economic assets for Kenya," said Kili.

Afriventia Group CEO Christian Gakwaya said Kenya has the infrastructure and regional connectivity needed to expand its position in the MICE sector and attract more international convenings.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) CEO June Chepkemei said the collaboration combines public sector destination marketing efforts with private sector expertise to strengthen Kenya’s competitiveness in the continental business tourism market.

"By combining KTB’s national marketing mandate with the private sector's commercial agility, we are fully prepared to secure the world's highest impact convenings and firmly place Kenya in Africa's top two MICE destinations within the next five years,” she said.

The partners said the initiative is expected to support growth in business tourism, investment opportunities and knowledge exchange across the region.
