Court detains two suspects arrested with bhang worth Ksh. 9.4 million

A court in Mombasa has ordered two suspects accused of trafficking bhang worth Ksh. 9.4 million to be detained at Mtwapa Police Station.
The suspects, Dennis Chamoto Shere and Maghanga Mohammed,
were arrested three days ago at Cha Simba area in Kilifi County after their Toyota Prado car ferrying drugs lost control and veered off the road.
Upon inspecting the car, police officers discovered drugs
and arrested two suspects
Shanzu Senior Principal Magistrate Yusuf Shikanda ordered the detention of the suspects pending a ruling on their bond application on
Monday.
The two however did not take plea after the prosecution
tabled a defective charge sheet before the court.
According to police, the two are being investigated on suspicion of being
part of a drug trafficking syndicate in the Coast region.
