Cops arrest woman after 9-month-old baby burns to death in night fire

A 9-month-old child was on Thursday night burnt alive after a fire gutted down timber-built rentals at Mulot trading center in Bomet..

According to Kiplabotwo location Chief Stanley Towett, the fire may have been started by a candle accident.

He told Citizen Digital that the baby’s mother had left the baby sleeping in the house at around 11pm on Thursday.

During the incident two other children who were sleeping in the adjacent rooms were rescued.

“These are 3 rooms, the first one to catch fire was the one with the child, the fire then extended to the other rooms where children were sleeping, luckily they were saved by neighbours,”

Police probing the matter have arrested the mother for questioning.
