A police officer who fled after killing his wife, daughter has been arrested and charged.

Constable Cosmas Kipchumba Biwott appeared before High Court Judge Maureen Odero in Nakuru on Thursday but was not required to take plea since it was his first appearance in court.

Biwott, who was attached to the Weseges Anti-Stock Theft Unit, allegedly shot 26-year-old Jane Njoki in the head 20 times before turning the gun on his 4-year-old daughter, Shantel Nyambura killing them both.

The incident transpired at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit camp after a reported bitter exchange between Biwott and his wife.

According to Subukia OCPD Alex Ng’ang’a, Biwott, aged 24, used a colleague’s firearm to commit the crime then fled from Suswa ASTU camp in Subukia.
