Comedian Akuku Danger devastated after losing sister to Sickle Cell

Akuku Danger took to social media to announce that his sister, Merwa, had succumbed to Sickle Cell anemia.

 Just like him, the sister was born with the disease. 

"Woke up to the saddest news my small siz went to be with the Lord last night. Like me, she was born with Sickle Cell disease and she succumbed to it," Akuku said. 

"She was always smiling. Rest in peace Merwa. I still can't come to terms with this. Till we meet again."

The comedian's friend Sandra Dacha has called for help from Kenyans to help the family overcome the burden that has befallen them. She asked for a paybill account to raise funds.

"It's really, really sad to lose a loved one, especially at such a tender age.  Sicknesses shouldn't be anyone's portion. We are together in this osiepa. Take heart," Dacha wrote.

Akuku was born with Sickle Cell disease and has been in and out of the hospital, with Dacha helping to fundraise.

The two have also had a formidable relationship that now goes beyond comedy and acting.
