Experienced tactician John Njogu has officially announced his departure from KCB Football Club, bringing to an end his stint with the club following the expiry of his contract on April 26, 2026.
Taking to social
media shortly after his final assignment, Njogu shared a heartfelt message
reflecting on his time with the bankers.
“Today marked my last game at KCB Football
Club, as my contract comes to an end. I wish the club all the best in the
remaining matches and especially the FKF Cup. It was humbling to work in one of
the best clubs in Kenya, the level of professionalism is amazing,” he posted.
Njogu joined
KCB’s technical bench in June 2025 as a trainer under veteran head coach Robert
Matano, contributing to the club’s tactical and physical development setup.
During his
tenure, he earned praise for his professionalism and ability to blend modern
training methods with local football dynamics.
In his farewell
note, Njogu extended gratitude to the entire technical bench and playing unit,
adding: “I thank the entire Club Management, my colleagues… I have really
learnt and enjoyed working with all of you. The players are amazing and
hardworking, I just wish them nothing but the very best.”
Before joining
KCB, Njogu had a brief but notable spell at Murang'a Seal FC, where he served
as head coach until March 2025. He has also previously handled Thika United
F.C., further cementing his reputation as a seasoned tactician.
A CAF A licensed
coach and FIFA/CAF instructor, Njogu is equally active beyond the touchline. He
serves as the Member of County Assembly for Gitothua Ward in Kiambu County and
remains influential in grassroots football through youth development and coach
education.
