Co-operative Bank has entered into a partnership with real estate firm Fanaka Real Estate that will see potential property owners get financing as they buy land and build.

The deal will see Fanaka Real Estate provide the land, and Co-operative bank give the financing for those seeking to become property owners.

Speaking during the signing of the partnership on Friday, Co-op bank Head of Mortgage Finance Fridah Mitei said the lender has the scale, reach and capacity to support customers across the country.

"We are committed to putting our customers at the heart of everything we do. Today we bring that strength together with Fanaka Real Estate, a growing player in Kenya's property market with projects across key growth corridors and four branches,"Mitei said.

She added that Fanaka's promise of turning dreams into reality aligns well with what the partnership seeks to achieve.

On his part, Fanaka CEO Moses Muriithi lauded Co-pp bank for its financial inclusion, which he said favours everyone in society.

He added that the partnership will enable potential property owners to acquire land in their places of choice and develop it.

"We will have more Kenyans come on board and not only have a piece of land, but also somewhere they can put up a home, continue their legacy because as we know land goes beyond just an investment," Muriithi said.

With over KES869B in total assets, KES23.1B in profit before tax for half year 2026, and a network of 223 branches, 619 SACCO front offices, over 16,000 Co-op Kwa Jirani agents and 609 ATMs/CDMs, the lender has the capacity to support potential property owners.

In the partnership, the lender will not only help finance the acquisition of land, but also help develop that property; be it building a home or commercial development.

The latest comes after Fanaka entered a deal with KUPPET Nairobi to help teachers acquire land and develop it within the Nairobi metropolis.

Fanaka sells land across key growth areas including Mombasa Road, Thika Road, Kangundo Road, Kitengela, Kenyatta Road, Ngong and Kikuyu.
