Rwanda has built a special lane, inlaid with synthetic rubber and painted green, around the scenic Nyarutarama-based Kigali Golf Resort and Villas in Gasabo District as part of a project aimed at revolutionizing the sporting experience in Kigali and promoting physical fitness.

“The introduction of the special painted running track around the Golf Course marks an important step towards enhancing our city's sports infrastructure."Merard Mpabwanamaguru the Vice Mayor told the New Times, Rwanda.

The 2.4-kilometer-long track will protect users from injuries while promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a culture of physical activity within the local community, according to Merard Mpabwanamaguru, Kigali Vice Mayor.

Mpabwanamaguru stated that the track has the potential to improve talent and revolutionize Rwanda's sporting experience, putting the country on the map for future international athletic competitions.

“ By offering a supportive and conducive environment for training and practice, the running track will contribute to the development of aspiring athletes and lay the foundation for a potential surge in Rwanda's sporting achievements,” the vice mayor was quoted as saying.

He urged residents to make full use of the Special Lane once it is completed in order to take advantage of the opportunities it may provide in the future.

Putting in mind the environmental conservation initiative Rwanda has been practicing over the years, the Vice Mayor was prudent enough to remind the people that the projects coincides with the clean environment in Kigali.

The renovation of the racing track adds to the bulk of the growing portfolio of sports infrastructure in Rwanda.
