Busia: Four escape death as tree falls on house in Butula

Four people have narrowly escaped death after a huge tree fell on their house in Busia following heavy rains.

The four were taking shelter in the house located in Shirandala village in Butula Constituency at the time of the incident.

Locals led by village elder Austin Musundi said heavy rains have been pounding the region recently.

He added that the four heard a loud bang as the tree fell on the roof of their house, trapping them inside.

“The roof collapsed, burying them inside due to heavy rains,” Musundi added.

This family was forced to spend the night in the cold following the incident.

They have called on well-wishers to intervene and provide assistance, after their belongings were destroyed in the incident.
