The 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two Games will get underway this week, bringing together the country's top secondary schools for a month-long competition that is expected to showcase Kenya's next generation of sporting talent.

The championships will begin with regional competitions across all eight regions before culminating in the National Finals at MPESA Academy from July 28 to August 1, 2026.

Thousands of student-athletes will battle for top honours in a wide range of disciplines while earning the opportunity to represent Kenya at regional competitions.

As the games get underway, KCB Bank has committed Sh. 20 million as the Title and Kit Sponsor, reaffirming its commitment to developing grassroots sports and empowering young people through sport. Of the sponsorship, Sh. 12 million will support the purchase of kits and trophies, while Sh. 8 million will fund fan engagement activities and activations during the regional and national championships.

Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Nairobi, KCB Group Chief Risk Officer Faith Basiye said:

"The sponsorship underscores KCB's long-standing commitment to developing sports as a catalyst for nurturing future champions while creating opportunities for them to showcase their talent, build lifelong values and pursue excellence. As a Bank, we are proud to be part of this rich legacy."

The regional competitions started in the Rift Valley Region at Narok High School from July 6 and will run to July 11, followed by the Nyanza Region at Homa Bay High School and the Nairobi Region at Jamhuri High School from July 7–11.

The Coast, Eastern and Western regional championships will be held at Kwale High School, Makueni High School and Bungoma High School respectively from July 8–11, while the Central Region finals will take place at MPESA Academy from July 9–11.

The regional phase will conclude with the North Eastern Region championships in Tabaka, Mandera, from July 20–22, before the National Finals are staged at MPESA Academy.

Beyond supporting the competition, KCB will leverage the games to champion environmental conservation by educating students and surrounding communities on sustainable practices that help conserve the environment, reduce carbon emissions and create healthier learning environments.

KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi welcomed the partnership, saying: "The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association appreciates KCB Bank for its continued commitment to the growth of school sports in Kenya. This sponsorship is a significant investment in our learners, providing them with an opportunity to compete, develop their talents and build values such as discipline, teamwork and resilience."

The Term Two Games will feature football (boys and girls), volleyball (boys and girls), netball, basketball 3x3, rugby sevens, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, scrabble, cricket, lacrosse, beach volleyball and baseball, making the championship one of the country's largest school sporting events
