A 52-year-old man
is being held at Longisa Police Station in Bomet County after he allegedly
defiled two school children, aged 6 and 10, before giving each of them Ksh.50.
According to Bomet
East Sub-County Police Commander Michael Singa, the suspect, identified as
Kipkirui Sitonik, allegedly accosted the two victims during the lunch break on
Friday as they were heading home from school.
He reportedly
dragged them into the Murany area into a maize plantation and defiled them.
After the heinous
act, the suspect reportedly released the victims, who immediately reported the
matter at home.
The report
prompted a search operation, after which the victims were taken to Longisa
Referral Hospital for medical examination.
Police officers,
with the help of members of the public, later tracked down the suspect and
found him drinking at a local establishment in Kembu Trading Centre, where he
was arrested.
