Police in Eldama Ravine Baringo County have launched an investigation into the death of a 26-year-old man whose body was found at Gurusalal waterfalls.

Fredrick Kiptui had been reported missing after expressing mental disturbance and writing disturbing posts on his social media page.

Citizen Digital checked a Facebook post he made 5 days ago stating; "Gooday guys, am not feeling well today, I may sleep a little bit longer than usual, I call it eternal sleep."

Confirming the incident Koibatek Sub-County Police Commander, Joel Chepkwony, said that after receiving the alert they visited the scene and retrieved the body. The body that showed signs of decomposition was identified by Kiptui’s family.

Chepkwony noted that the body had no visible injuries, as the exact cause of death remains unclear.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) from Koibatek have launched an inquiry to determine whether the death was suicidal or a result of other factors.

Concerns have been raised after Kiptui recent social media posts, others murmuring that he lost Ksh. 2,000 in a gaming app, which might have caused him emotional distress before his death.

The body has been moved  to Mercy Mission Hospital Mortuary as it awaits a  post-mortem examination.
