Speaking to Citizen Digital, head coach Razak Siwa said the win against Tusker was a massive boost for the team, giving the players renewed confidence and motivation ahead of their season finale.
“We have prepared well and I’m happy our boys are psyched up after the Tusker home win. We will approach the match head on and fight for the maximum points and finish the league in the right gear,” said Siwa.
The tactician also called on the club’s supporters to turn up in large numbers and rally behind the team in what will be their final fixture of the season.
“We urge our fans, since this is our last match of the season, to travel in large numbers and push us on, and we promise them a win,” he added.
Before defeating Tusker, Bandari had endured a difficult run of form, going seven consecutive matches without registering a victory.
Siwa admitted that the season has been a challenging one for the Dockers, largely due to constant changes within the squad, but expressed optimism about the future.
“Season has been very hard for us. We have been changing our squad every now and then, making us unstable, but hopeful and God willing next season we will have a good and strong squad to fight for titles,” lamented Siwa.
Bandari, popularly known as “The Dockers,” currently sit ninth on the KPL table with 44 points. Meanwhile, Mathare United remain dangerously close to the relegation zone in 15th place with 38 points , just three points above the drop zone.
