Atwoli to Uhuru: You failed to make Raila president, you will not make Sifuna one

Speaking at Khwisero during an inspection tour of a level four Hospital building that's under construction, Atwoli said the same way Uhuru Kenyatta failed to make Raila Odinga president in the 2022 polls, so will Sifuna suffer a similar fate.

He reckoned the Mulembe community will not welcome manipulation, stressing the importance of unity and solidarity among its members.

"In Azimio, he (Uhuru) told us he will give Ksh.400 million for agents, and he did not. He left Raila and now he says Sifuna will get money," he said.

"He just wants to use him to divide you. I urge you to remain vigilant."

The leaders said it was important for the Mulembe community to remain vigilant against what they described as political attempts to divide the community ahead of the 2027 General Election. 

They emphasized that leaders should prioritize unity, peace and the interests of the people rather than using political differences to create divisions

On Sunday, Uhuru distanced himself from speculation that he is returning to active politics, saying he is not seeking any political position and would not want to be labelled as a political “sponsor”.

“Do not say that I am interfering with politics. I am not interested in any political seat,” he said during the annual memorial service for former Vice-President Michael Kijana Wamalwa in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

He also urged politicians to stop trying to block rivals from holding rallies and instead focus on selling their manifestos to Kenyans ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Meanwhile, Nairobi Senator Sifuna has dismissed allegations that Mr. Uhuru is bankrolling the opposition against President William Ruto's administration.

Ruto and his allies have accused Uhuru of bankrolling the opposition, especially Sifuna and Jubilee Presidential candidate Fred Matiang'i, who mount a challenge for the presidency in next year's general election. 

Sifuna has remained tight-lipped on vying for president.
