Petr Cech finally made his Emirates debut and maintained a clean sheet that saw Arsenal beat Wolfsburg to lift the Emirates cup in front of a 59,815 strong crowd.

Arsenal were clear favorites having routed out Lyon 6-0 less than 24 hours earlier and just after the half time whistle, Theo Walcott latched onto an impressive Jeff Reine-Adelaide’s pass and scored the decisive goal against a spirited Wolfsburg that had former Arsenal player Nicklas Bendtner on its wings.

The win firmly eases pressure on Arsenal fans who are optimistic at Cech’s world class display that has seen him help Arsenal win two pre-season trophies in two games ahead of a Community Shield clash with Premier League champions, Chelsea, this weekend.

Arsenal last won the trophy in 2010.
