KTA celebrates excellence in hospitality industry

The Kenya Tourism Awards (KTA) proudly held its
second edition to celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership within the
nation's vibrant tourism and hospitality industry at the Argyle Grand Hotel in
Nairobi on Wednesday.
The outstanding moments of the awards was the
announcement of winners in various categories which highlighted the competitive
spirit and quality of service within Kenya’s tourism sector.
In the Best Conference Hotel category, Sawela Lodges
Naivasha triumphed, securing the top spot followed by Vipingo Ridge as first
runner-up and Gelian Hotel in Machakos, which clinched the second runner-up
position.
Gelian Hotel took to social media platforms to
announce that being awarded the third best conference in Kenya was a source of
great honor, particularly given the stiff competition at the national level.
“Proud moment for Gelian hotel. We are honored to be
awarded 3rd best conference hotel in Kenya at the Kenya Tourism Awards.
Competing on a national stage makes this achievement even more meaningful. Those
recognition positions Gelian hotel and Machakos County as a premier conference
destination. Congratulations team Gelian,” read the post.
KTA also honoured a range of other outstanding
contributors in the tourism sector.
Kaitech Travel emerged as the best Outbound Tour
Operator, while Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge was recognized as the best
Safari Lodge among other notable awards.
Broadcasting and Telecommunication Principal
Secretary Stephen Isaboke reiterated the government’s commitment to recognizing
and supporting tourism as a vital driver of economic growth and a key element
in enhancing the country’s global positioning.
