APS Bomet edge Ulinzi Stars in KPL tie

APS Bomet grinded out a narrow 1-0 win away to Ulinzi Stars as they climbed out of the relegation zone in the FKF Premier League on Saturday.
APS Bomet went into this match with the aim of snapping a five match winless run that would have them level on points with their opponents of the day, Ulinzi Stars, on 26 a piece.
They started positively in the sixth minute with Hansel Ochieng's header sailing just wide of the goal.
APS Bomet remained on the front foot in the opening 20 minutes with Hansel Ochieng and Festus Kipkemoi coming closest to breaking the deadlock for the visitors.
Ulinzi Stars would start to bear their teeth as a smart interception by Paul Okoth followed by a pass through to Staphod Odhiambo at the edge of box saw their first proper shot at goal sail narrowly wide.
Just before the break APS Bomet would break the deadlock with Anthony Naibei scoring in the second minute of first half stoppage time giving the visitors a priceless lead heading into the interval.
APS Bomet would go into the second half with the aim of protecting their precious lead and securing a spot above the relegation places at the expense of Ulinzi.
Deep into the second half APS Bomet still held on to their one goal advantage as Ulinzi plugged on in search of a desperate equaliser.
APS Bomet would hold on to take a narrow 1-0 away to Ulinzi Stars effectively snapping their winless run and climbing to 15 place equal on 25 points but right below Ulinzi Stars
