Danger man Festus Kipkemoi made the difference, striking in the 29th minute to hand the Black Berets a crucial lead and ultimately all three points against the bankers.

APS Bomet’s fourth successive league victory moved them four points clear of the relegation zone in 13th, strengthening their bid to remain in the top flight league following promotion last season.

Following the defeat KCB remain seventh on 41 points, with only two wins in five matches.

Elsewhere, Tusker FC failed to capitalise on KCB’s earlier woes as they suffered a second consecutive defeat, falling 1-0 to Nairobi United at Nyayo Stadium to remain eighth in the standings.

Rwandese Mudjari Hakitimana goal in the 18th minute was enough for the Naibois who extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven matches as they leaped to fourth on 48 points.

Tusker remain eighth on 41 points, level with KCB who have a better goal difference.

Meanwhile, Police FC’s unbeaten run on the bounce continued to eight matches with a 2-1 win over Murang’a Seal 2-1 at Police Sacco Stadium.

At Kwale Stadium, hosts Bandari were held to a one-all draw by Posta Rangers as the Dockers failed to end their winless run that hit four matches.

Bandari remain tenth on 40 points while Posta Rangers are just three points above the relegation zone in 14th.
