Kenya and East Africa’s amateur mixed martial arts promotion ANZA MMA returned for its seventh event on Thursday, March 26, 2026, hosting ANZA MMA 007 at The Alchemist in Nairobi.

Organisers said the event delivered an action-packed night of amateur MMA, spotlighting rising talent from across the region, with 10 fighters making their amateur debuts on the card.

The bantamweight main event saw Hassan Wasswa Muhammed of Nairobi Jiu-Jitsu Academy secure a dominant TKO win over Maina Morgan of Shadow Strikers, as he continued to strengthen his profile in the division.

Also on the main card, Samuel Laurian (Nairobi Jiu-Jitsu Academy) beat Brayan Ray via verbal tap in a tightly contested featherweight bout.

In the co-main event, Hamza Fahim of Mombasa Sharks defeated Dickson Aomo of Diani Fight Club by submission, finishing the bout with a rear naked choke.

Another bantamweight contest saw Bobby Kamande of Chanuka Self-Defense edge Lwando Matthew by decision in what organisers described as a competitive matchup.

The preliminary card also produced several standout performances, including Wayne Achoki’s decision win over Hashim Sefu, Evans Kaburia’s third-round referee stoppage against Felix Tole, and Amos Eboso’s TKO victory over Brazil’s Augusto Kohn in the welterweight division.

Organisers said that unlike ANZA MMA 006—which attracted fighters from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and the DRC—ANZA MMA 007 featured predominantly Kenyan athletes, including fighters travelling from Kisii, Kakamega, Mombasa and Diani, as well as multiple gyms in Nairobi, highlighting the growth of the domestic amateur MMA scene.

Since its launch, ANZA MMA has positioned itself as a key platform for amateur fighters in East Africa, providing a professional environment and regular competition in front of live audiences. The promotion says its 2026 season aims to deepen the region’s competitive MMA pipeline and prepare athletes for regional and international competition.

In 2025, KO Fight Night by ANZA MMA staged what organisers described as Kenya’s first professionally sanctioned MMA event, bringing together professional fighters from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania
