All systems go as KCSE examinations begin today

The nationwide 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) begins today.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) said that all preparations are set to ensure a transparent process, after conducting rehearsals on Friday.

Candidates will start with orals for French, German, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign Language.

Pactical exams will begin on Wednesday to Friday, October 31.

KNEC Chief Executive Officer Davind Njengere said that 996,078 students will be undertaking the exam.

Another 1,298,089 learners will sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams set to commence next week while 1,130,669 will sit for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).

KNEC CEO Njengere further noted that storage containers have been increased from 617 used last year to 642 to ease distribution of examination material.

Meanwhile, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has asserted that lawful action will be taken on those found engaging in exam malpractice.
