Kenya's premier cricket in the wild competition is back. The 2022 edition of the Last Man Standing Rhino Cup is set to take place from June 17-19.

The Ol Pejeta Concervancy in Nanyuki will once again play host to the seventh edition of a cricket festival that prides itself in being the only cricket tournament in the world to find a perfect convergence spot for cricket, conservation, and charity.

The Last Man Standing Rhino Cup is open to international representative sides and professional Kenyan sides who will square it out in the Main Cup while the social, amateur and invitational teams battle each other for the Sudan Smash.

With eighteen teams already having confirmed participation, professional and amateur cricket players alike will have the perfect stage to launch massive sixes into the expansive and picturesque wildness of the Ol Pejeta Concervancy.

Since 2015, the Rhino Cup has been a collaborative effort between Ol Pejeta Concervancy( home of the last two Northern White Rhinos), the British Army (BATUK), The East African Character Development Trust, and Last Man Stands T20 Cricket.

This year's tournament will also mark another giant leap taken in promoting conservancy efforts and animal welfare programs at Ol Pejeta and the general area.

“The Rhino Cup is about drawing on the global love for the game of cricket to help combat poaching of the rhino by supporting Ol Pejeta’s conservation work. Four years since the passing of Sudan -the last male of his species, it reminds us of the need to take action and support the conservancy which is now home to the last two northern white rhinos alive," tournament Director and founder of the Rhino Cup, Rob Stevenson said.

Another beneficiary of the proceeds raised from the event is the East African Character Development Trust (EACDT), a charity which helps transform the lives of disadvantaged young Africans through sports and education.

Defending champions, Obuya Cricket Academy will be looking to once again ascertain their dominance but will have it all to do against a strong field headlined by Kenya Kongonis and Meru Cricket Club.
