Aisha Jumwa loses Kilifi governor race to Mung'aro

Mungaro, who was contesting for the seat under an ODM ticket secured a total of 143,773 votes as UDA's candidate Jumwa came second with 65,893 votes.
He received his clearance certificate from Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials with his deputy governor-elect Flora Chibule.
George Kithi of the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party came third with 64,321 votes.
Mung'aro now replaces incumbent governor Amason Kingi who has been at the helm of Kilifi's leadership since 2013.
Other candidates who lost in the race are David Noti of Umoja Summit Party, Alponce Dzombo (Safina), Michael Jefwa (Ford-Kenya) and Franco Esposito (independent).
