Agriculture CS Felix Koskei Grilled by EACC Officers

Mr Koskei was summoned over corruption allegations in the ministry of Agriculture as detailed in the EACC report that was submitted to the president in confidence.

The CS was the first to step aside following President Uhuru’s directive that leaders mentioned in the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission report to step aside.

He had claimed that he was never interrogated by the anti-graft commission but took it upon himself to uphold the rule of law.

PLANT POTATOES

According to the EACC dossier, Mr Koskei  allocated permits to sugar importers without subjecting them to an open tendering system as required by procurement law.

Koskei is also alleged to have taken government land to plant potatoes under the management of his aide.

He is further accused of intimidation, abuse of office and demanding bribes from parastatal heads.

About 175 government officials were mentioned in the report including governors, senators and cabinet secretaries.
