Abikar’s work has included efforts to curb the sale of counterfeit educational materials, particularly fake scientific calculators, which can affect learners, parents, schools and legitimate retailers.
He has also participated in public awareness initiatives aimed at helping consumers identify counterfeit products and make informed purchasing decisions.
Beyond the education sector, Abikar’s enforcement responsibilities extend to other counterfeit goods, including alcoholic drinks, which can pose risks to public health and safety.
The ACA has increasingly focused on counterfeit alcoholic beverages as part of broader efforts to curb the circulation of illegal products and protect consumers.
“Protecting learners from counterfeit educational materials is about safeguarding the quality of education and ensuring that every student has access to reliable learning tools. This honour encourages us to strengthen public awareness and continue working towards a marketplace where consumers can trust the products they buy,” Abikar said.
The recognition highlights the role of anti-counterfeit enforcement in protecting consumers, supporting legitimate businesses and addressing the circulation of fake products in the market.
The ACA Board, management and staff congratulated Abikar on the award, citing his work in consumer protection and efforts to address counterfeit trade.
