8 arrested as police seize 250 kilograms of bhang in Githurai

Police in Nairobi have seized 250 kilogrammes of bhang and arrested eight suspects during an overnight anti-narcotics operation in Githurai 44, Kasarani Sub-County.

The operation was launched following actionable intelligence and a tip-off from members of the public.

Officers raided a residential house where they recovered the bhang, 1,800 rolling papers, and a 25-kilogramme bag of polythene packaging material.

The authorities also recovered a large metallic sieving mesh believed to have been used in processing the drugs.

The eight suspects are being held in police custody pending arraignment, while the recovered exhibits have been secured as investigations continue.
