7 people killed, two others injured in head-on collision on Nairobi-Mombasa highway

Seven people died on the spot and two others
sustained serious injuries after two vehicles collided head-on at Engwata
Macknon area, along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, on Saturday afternoon.
According to eye witness reports, a Subaru en
route to Mombasa and a BMW were involved in a collision that killed majority of
the cars' occupants immediately.
The BMW, which was ferrying a family of four,
burst into flames immediately after the incident owing to the impact of the
collision.
The two survivors have since been rushed to the
Moi Referral Hospital in Voi for specialized treatment while the vehicles have
been towed to Macknon Road Police Station.
