5 suspects detained over murder of hotel manager in Eldoret

An Eldoret court has allowed the police to hold in custody five suspects, including a couple, over the murder of a hotel manager in Eldoret.

Eldoret resident magistrate Naima Chelagat allowed the police to hold Allan Kiprotich, Elvis Ambani, Jackson Sifuna, Fredrick Seroney and Betty Jeptoo for 14 days to conclude their investigations.

Investigating Officer Eric Ruto had asked for 14 days to recover the murder weapon, arrest other accomplices, record witness statements, obtain communication data, take blood samples to the Government Chemist for forensic analysis, and conduct mental status assessments on the suspects.

Sema’s body was found lying near Kipkorgot Centre, a few yards from his car and near a home where he is suspected to have been beaten to death.

The offence was committed on the night of 6th August 2026 at Kipkorgot area in Ainabkoi Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County. 

Investigators traced the suspects to the home of Allan Kiprotich Tuiyot and Betty Jeptoo Bii at Tuiyot Farm in Kipkorgot Location. 

The case will come up for further directions on 25th, August 2026.
