Head coach Francis Chege has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to claim maximum points, even as he acknowledges the impressive run of form of their coastal opponents.
Chege believes that his players have what it takes to rise to the challenge and deliver a strong performance in front of their home fans.
“We are ready for the task ahead. Mombasa United are in great form, but we have prepared well, and I believe the boys are motivated to get a positive result,” said Chege.
Chege noted that although 3K managed to avoid defeat against Mombasa United last season, this encounter will not be an easy one.
He pointed out that the visitors now have an experienced coach in Gilbert Selebwa and a number of new signings who have strengthened their squad significantly.
“They have brought in a few quality players but we expect a tough and competitive game,” added the tactician.
3K currently sit ninth on the NSL table with four points from three matches — one win, one draw, and one loss.
On the other hand, Mombasa United have had a perfect start to the season, winning all their opening fixtures to collect nine points, placing them second, level with league leaders Migori Youth.
With both teams eager to maintain momentum, Saturday’s 3:00 PM clash at Moi Stadium promises to be an exciting battle between ambition and consistency, as Chege’s men look to upset one of the league’s most in-form sides.
