Police in Luanda, Vihiga County are probing an incident where a woman is accused of abandoning her 3-months-old baby at a local hospital.
Emuhaya Sub County hospital administrator Salome Omulele said the 18-year-old visited the facility only for her to leave the baby unattended.
"The woman left a note urging well-wishers to take care of her baby, who was found lying behind the wards by a night guard," Omulele said.
Citing frustrations from her family, the woman told Citizen Digital that she made the decision amid allegations that she sired the child with her brother.
"We examined the baby and discovered he is still healthy. We traced the mother to Ebusikhale Sub location in Luanda," Omulele revealed.
The mother, a form two dropout, is now under probe even as locals called for sex education targeting youth in the region.
