A family from Birikani village in Voi is in distress following the disappearance of their son on July 25 at around 5pm.

The 10-year-old boy is believed to have wandered off into Tsavo East National Park.

The family is seeking help to locate the boy following days of searching for him in vain.

Members of the local community together with rangers from the Tsavo East National Park have been combing the area in search of the boy.

“Despite filing a report at the Voi police station that day, we still did not get any help, while we sought the help of KWS to do air surveillance but this is yet to happen,”  Dora Mnyika, a neighbour, said.

Mwajuma Swaleh, the child's grandmother, called for security agencies to step in and help find the child who was last seen wearing a blue shirt and green pants.

Susan Mwanjala, the Voi community policing chair lady, urged the authorities to help in the search.

Anyone with information that could help in the search has been urged to report to the authorities.
