Vehicle swept away as floods wreak havoc in Laisamis, Marsabit

As floods continue to wreak havoc across the country, six people, including a driver, were rescued after the vehicle they were traveling in was swept away by flash floods in Marsabit county.

All passengers and the driver were rescued.

The vehicle was heading to Mt Kulal from Marsabit when River Sukuroi in Illaut Korr Ward, Laisamis constituency, swept away their vehicle.

According to a witness, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon after the river broke its banks following heavy rains.

During the weekend, the Northern part of Kenya experienced heavy downpour that left a trail of destruction.
