By Festus Kirui

Two suspects linked to the beheading of a man in Chilchila, Kipkelion West Constituency, will remain in police custody for seven more days, a Kericho court ruled on Monday.

Kericho Senior Resident Magistrate Japheth Bii granted the extension to allow police officers to complete their investigations and compile pending cases against the suspects, Nicholas Kipkemoi Kipkoech and John Kipkemoi Tuwei.

The two are accused of killing one person and injuring another in a shocking crime that sent waves of fear across the country.

The suspects were arrested in Kiptagich, Nakuru County, after being on the run for over a week.

Law enforcement agencies tracked them down and apprehended them.

Speaking on behalf of the deceased's family, lawyer Phillip Mutai confirmed that the suspects are expected to be arraigned in court on March 10, where they will take a plea for murder.
