Suspected thief lynched in Bondo, Siaya County

A suspected thief has been lynched by a mob after he was caught stealing from a shop in Bondo, Siaya County.
Nyawita Assistant Chief Ayub Ogola said the suspect was rounded up by the mob at Sinapanga Estate in Bondo.
The unidentified man broke into one of the shops early Monday, only to be caught in the act by the shop owner.
"The owner of the shop raised the alarm. Members of the public responded to the distress call and cornered the suspect before subjecting him to mob justice," Ogola said.
Locals descended on the suspect with kicks and blows as others clobbered him with crude weapons, leaving him for the dead.
The body has been taken to Bondo Hospital Mortuary.
