Shock as Siaya man walks into church, poops on a statue of Jesus

Siaya County police commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the incident happened at St. Andrew’s Bondo Catholic Church.

“The heinous act was reported at Bondo police station by the parish priest, Rev. Father Edwin Obudho,” Kimaiyo said. 

Kimaiyo added that further reports indicate that the statue, which has been at the church altar, was reported missing.

“Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was established that a stranger who was dressed in a black and white striped shirt and black trousers entered the church hall when a few congregants were deep in prayer,” Kimaiyo added.

The suspect is then said to have proceeded to the upper gallery where he had hidden the statue. He would then descend to the altar where he picked the statue.

“He then defecated on the statue before exiting the church. He hid the defaced statue underneath the pews,” police noted. 

Efforts to trace the suspect are ongoing.
