Police in Ngong, Kajiado County, have arrested three suspects linked to a wave of violent robberies targeting businesspeople in the area.

According to police, the suspects were tracked down on Monday, in a joint operation led by the OCS Ngong Police Station and supported by officers from Limuru Police Station.

Intelligence reports led the team to Bibirioni, Limuru, where two suspects — Washington Mise Imbaiza and Dennis Osaji — were arrested. A third suspect, James Mwangi alias "Chairman", was later apprehended in Kawangware.

"During a search at Washington’s residence, police recovered a Ceska pistol (serial number B619333) loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition. Other items recovered include face masks, a motorcycle helmet, and plastic ties believed to have been used to bind victims during the robberies," the police said.

The suspects are accused of trailing business owners on their way home, robbing them at gunpoint and fleeing using motorbikes or the victims’ vehicles.

Police say a fourth suspect, believed to be armed, is still at large and efforts to trace him are ongoing.
