Outcry as ‘jeshi jinga’ gang terrorizes locals in Mumias, Kakamega County

Residents of Mumias West and Mumias East constituencies in Kakamega County have decried a rise in cases of insecurity.
Locals told Citizen Digital that cases of crime have gone up in the recent past, including livestock theft and armed robbery.
Led by Margaret Washiku from Emakhwale in the Mumias East and Cosmas Musungu from Mumias West, they say they have been significantly affected by the incidents of crime.
The distraught residents claim that many of these acts are perpetrated by a group of youths known as "Jeshi Jinga."
According to the locals, the rising cost of living and lack of jobs might have contributed to the insecurity, urging the government to intervene.
