A 25-year-old woman was last night found murdered inside her home in Boya village, Ndhiwa, within Homa Bay County.

The headless body of Christine Auma was found lying in a pool of blood in the family’s kitchen house.

According to the police – Auma was attacked by unknown people while inside the kitchen preparing ugali for her family.

Reports indicate that her husband and other family members were gathered inside the main house; a separate building within the homestead at the time of the incident.

According to the area Assistant Chief Milton Kawino, Auma’s husband heard commotion from the main house and rushed to the kitchen in a huff.

“On reaching the kitchen, he found the body of his wife lying on the floor in a fresh pool of blood, with the head missing,” said Chief Kawino.

“The suspects disappeared into the darkness, and their whereabouts has not yet been established,” noted the Chief.

Many questions have been raised as to how the suspects managed to execute the heinous act and melt away so effortlessly.

Ndhiwa Sub-County Police Commander Paul Rioba confirmed the incident.

He said: “Our officers are actively investigating the matter. At the moment we are trying to hunt down the assailants and establish the motive of the attack."

The body of the deceased is lying at the Manyatta Kobodo mortuary.
