The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Nandi County Government and other agencies, has launched a 10-day vaccination campaign against typhoid and measles/rubella.

This follows the increase in the number of these diseases in children under 5 years of age since 2021.

Rubella is a contagious viral infection best known by its distinctive red rash, according to Mayo Clinic.

According to Nandi County CEC, Angeline Kirui, the exercise is expected to start from July 5 to July 15 this year.

According to Nandi County Health Minister Angeline Kirui, the initiative aims to significantly strengthen protection against dangerous and preventable diseases.

She stressed the importance of saving children's lives through vaccination and urged parents, guardians, schools and community leaders to fully support the exercise.
