A widow whose house was torched by unknown arsonists in Rongo Sub County two weeks ago has appealed for support.
Jocinta Awuor has been forced to spend days in the open following the incident.
Awuor said that she has to send her children seek refuge at a neighbor’s house at night.
Her neighbor, Caroline Achieng, has generously opened her doors for Jocinta’s family to stay overnight since the incident.
In an interview with Radio Ramogi, Jocinta lamented the hardships she has faced over the past two weeks, describing her situation as very difficult.
“I have been forced to move from place to place, seeking shelter at my neighbor’s residence each night,” she said.
Village elder Andrew Owino stated that authorities have yet to arrest those responsible.
He also appealed to leaders within Migori County to assist the widow in acquiring a permanent residence.
