Migori: Six arrested over possession of illicit brew
Six people have been arrested after they were found in possession of 80 litres of illicit brew in Migori.
The six were nabbed during a joint crackdown on illicit brew in Suna-Oruba and Suna-Ragana locations in Suna West.
Area Chief Charles Ouma said they raided several changaa dens and seized 80 litres of changaa.
"I would like to warn those who are behind the sale and consumption of illicit brew in this region. Your days are numbered," the chief noted.
The six suspects are being held at Oruba police station pending their arraignment.
"The netted alcohol was handed over to the police and will be used as exhibits in court," Ouma said.
Meanwhile, he appealed to members of the public to work closely with security officers in order to put an end to the illicit trade.
