Migori: Search for bodaboda operator who stabbed girlfriend

A female student who sat for this year’s KCSE exams is receiving treatment at Migori Level Four Hospital after she was attacked by her boyfriend, a bodaboda rider, in Suna East, Migori County.

According to Ngege Sub-location Assistant Chief Celine Anyango, the suspect, identified as David Odhiambo, allegedly assaulted the 18-year-old candidate, Whitney, and is currently at large.

Anyango stated that police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and are confident he will be apprehended soon.

The Assistant Chief noted that the circumstances leading to the attack are still unclear.

However, speculation from some members of the public suggests that the girl may have attempted to end her relationship with the suspect.

Anyango further mentioned that more precise details will be gathered from the survivor to determine the exact motive behind the attack.

Meanwhile, she urged young people and adolescents to avoid relationships that put them at risk of Gender Based Violence (GBV).
