Migori: Probe as thieves break into school in Rongo

Police have launched an investigation into a break-in at St. Jonathan Primary and Secondary School in West Kanyamamba sub-location, Rongo in Migori County.
Area assistant chief George Omuono said that the incident resulted in the theft of several items, including six laptops.
He reported that the thieves broke into the administration block serving both the primary and secondary sections.
Besides the six laptops, the gang also made away with printed school uniforms, and a gas cylinder from the primary section, none of which have been recovered.
The thieves also took a generator and a printer from the secondary section but abandoned those items within the school grounds.
"Some form four students who went to check on their agriculture project reported the break-in," Omuono explained.
No suspects have been arrested so far, but police are actively conducting inquiries.
This incident follows a similar theft of eight laptops at Okenge Primary School in Nyatike sub-county, Migori County, just days earlier.
