Migori: One dead, one hospitalized as mob descends on suspected criminals
A 31-year-old man linked to a recent surge in insecurity in Lower Kakaro sub-location, Migori County, has been lynched by a mob.
Suna North acting chief Wycliffe Onyango said that another individual, aged 28, is currently fighting for his life.
He added that the deceased and the survivor were ambushed by members of the public who were pursuing individuals connected to the increasing insecurity in Kakrao.
The two suspects were taken to Migori police station, where the 31-year-old succumbed to his injuries, while the 28-year-old was taken to the hospital by the police.
“Suspects should be handed over to law enforcement for proper investigation. I condemn this incident of mob justice, as it undermines the rule of law,” the chief said.
The incident unfolds amid growing concerns regarding rising insecurity in Kakrao, where over 30 individuals have fallen victim to an unidentified criminal gang.
