Migori: Locals urged to work closely with police to weed out vandals

Locals in Migori have been urged to work together with police to tame growing cases of vandalism.

Rongo Constituency Manager Ochieng Ochenge has called on residents to collaborate with provincial administrators to eliminate vandals who have been damaging electricity cables and transformers.

He urged locals to be committed to the drive adding that this will help ensure that all villages are connected to electricity.

Ochenge expressed concern over the ongoing vandalism, stating that a few individuals have been disrupting the efforts by tampering with power lines and transformers.

He revealed that a power line was recently vandalized before the contractor could even finish the work.

"We urge the public to actively protect power infrastructure, as it is vital for the community's development."

Residents emphasized the need for closer cooperation with provincial administrators to root out the vandals.
