Police from Ngong police station have begun operations to find a middle-aged man suspected of killing two children aged 4 and 6 and wounding a 19-year-old girl by cutting them with a sword in Bondeni, Upper Matasia, Kajiado north, then fleeing.

The suspect is said to be the uncle to the children and a brother to the 19 year old girl.

Lilian Mwilu, a neighbour, said the children's father had asked her if she had seen his children because the door to his house was locked.

"On saying that I hadn't seen them and I thought they were at home, the father rushed back to the house and broke the padlock and what we found was shocking. The two children had been killed, and the girl who survived was in pain with injuries," she said.

Mwajuma Akai, another neighbour, said she had heard screams from the house, but didn't think the children were in distress.

"I thought those were the usual games children play where they fight each other. I went out to check what was happening, but I didn't see them outside and so I returned only to later hear what happened," she said.

Shocked villagers called for justice to be served and the culprit brought to book.

The bodies of the children were taken to Ngong hospital mortuary while the girl is receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
