Man allegedly dies by suicide in Kakamega County

Police in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County have launched a probe into the mysterious death of a man.

The body of the 22-year-old man was found hanging from a rope in his room in Soi village, Ikoli sub-location.

According to the area assistant chief, Lawrence Kabula, the victim, identified as Evans Simeon, may have taken his own life following a disagreement with his mother about sugarcane money.

It is alleged that his mother had harvested and sold sugarcane to a local milling factory, which led to the dispute between them.

The body has been taken to the mortuary at Kakamega County Referral Hospital for autopsy.
