Tenants living in an apartment in Kitengela have been given seven days to vacate the building.
The order was given by Kajiado County Health Officials last week over what they described as serious health concerns.
According to the health officials, and the letter seen by Wananchi Reporting, the building was channelling sewage onto a public road, exposing other residents of the area to possible health hazards.
The tenants were left in shock after county health officials asked them to vacate the building located along Deliverance road.
The residents were given seven days to vacate the building – and find alternative houses to rent – until the situation is rectified.
The building is said to have some 50 rental units; being one and two bedroom units.
Residents living in the area have in the past raised concern over the issue, many of them, especially families with little children, fearing outbreak of diseases due to the dirty waters coming from the building.
The health officials said they had written numerous letters to the owner of the building asking him to correct the situation.
According to the residents, sewage coming from the building often flood the road, affecting its usage by other residents; motorists, school children and hospital activities in the area.
