Kisii: 69-year-old community policing member arrested for defiling six-year-old girl

According to a police report, the man, who is said to be a member of the community policing forum, lured the girl who had been sent to the shop by her parents.

"The man lured the girl to his house and committed the heinous crime," the report says. 

The girl managed to find her way home after the attack and informed her parents what had happened.

It is at this point that they reported to the police station and took their daughter to hospital. 

The police, together with the community policing group, launched a manhunt for the culprit, who had by this time fled. 

The man was finally traced in Gesere area and was arrested. 

He will be arraigned in court and charged.
