Some of the residents told Wananchi Reporting that poor road network in the area was hindering transport activities.
A recent picture of the area shows dilapidated feeder roads, which is forcing locals to take longer routes to access their homes.
“I have been parking my car at a local fuel station due to the poor condition of the roads,” James Muchui a local, said.
The already bad situation only worsened following the recent rains, with some of the roads rendered impassable.
“The area is still developing and heavy trucks are a common sight around here. So, it gets really muddy whenever it rains,” added Mary Wangui, also a resident.
Some of the affected areas include Kingori’s, Josnah road, roads leading to Ng’undu primary school, Vision, Makongo, among others.
“We have had cases where pillion passengers fall from motorbikes, and into the muddy waters especially at night,” James Ekweny, a bodaboda rider said.
Adding, that trips to the local repair shops have become the norm, which affects their operations.
