Construction work at the stadium.
A section of residents of Ikolomani constituency in Kakamega County have condemned an incident in which a group of youths invaded the Malinya stadium, which is under construction, and vandalised the fence built by the contractor.
They also called for the speedy compensation of families who were moved from the area to make room for the construction.
Locals say title deeds are yet to be issued.
Political wars between different camps have been blamed for the vandalism.
The construction of the stadium was initiated by Sports Kenya and is expected to cost more than Ksh1 billion
